UMU Joins Lubaga Hospital Fundraising Dinner to Support Healthcare Advancements
We were honored to be part of a truly meaningful event—the Lubaga Hospital Fundraising Dinner, marking an incredible milestone of 125 years of service to the Ugandan community. The evening was a celebration of the hospital’s rich legacy and an important step toward a brighter future in healthcare for all Ugandans. Lubaga Hospital has been a cornerstone in providing quality healthcare to the people of Uganda for over a century. As the hospital celebrated its 125th anniversary, the focus shifted not only on past achievements but also on future advancements. The fundraising dinner served as a platform to raise funds for critical upgrades, ensuring that Lubaga Hospital continues to meet the growing healthcare needs of Ugandans.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the hospital’s ambitious goal to raise UGX 2 billion for a vital CT-Scan upgrade. This upgrade is crucial to improving diagnostic capabilities, enhancing patient care, and reducing wait times for crucial medical procedures. The CT-Scan is an essential tool for diagnosing a range of conditions, from injuries and infections to more serious diseases like cancer, and this upgrade will play a significant role in saving lives and improving healthcare outcomes.
Leading the charge for this initiative was Prof. Patrick Kyamanywa, our Vice Chancellor at UMU, who passionately expressed the importance of contributing to the betterment of healthcare in Uganda. Prof. Kyamanywa’s leadership and dedication to advancing healthcare align with UMU’s broader commitment to making a positive impact on society. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Lubaga Hospital for reaching such an incredible milestone and thank all those who are contributing to this vital cause. Let’s continue to support efforts that bring healthcare, hope, and healing to all.
